The Castries Urban Transportation Plan Study involves the preliminary designs of specific measures to improve the traffic congestion and the urban environment within urban Castries. Five main areas to be appraised for the feasibility of an investment programme by the Government of St Lucia including – improvements to the urban road system, development of a north and a south bust terminal, establishment of a parking authority, town beautification and a Castries to Gros Islet sea ferry.
Dannion provided the study team with expertise in the area of transportation engineering, supervision of traffic counts, origin-destination surveys, transportation and bus surveys for running of the transportation models; supervision, assessment and analysis of geotechnical and topographical surveys; traffic and junction analyses, evaluation of route and transportation options; and preliminary designs and cost estimates.
