Castries and Anse La Raye Drainage Study

The Castries and Anse La Raye Drainage Improvement Study involved the evaluation of options to reduce the occurrence of flooding in the city of Castries and in the village of Anse La Raye. Design options were developed concurrently with extensive public and stakeholder meetings. In Castries, works involved the design of urban drains and the review of two drainage pump stations. In Anse La Raye, the works involved the design of earthen flood banks, the diversion of existing watercourses and the construction of two new river bridges.

During the study phase of the project, Dannion provided expertise in the areas of supervision of the topographical and geotechnical surveys, preliminary designs and cost estimates, and financial analysis of the project options.

During the detailed design and tender document phase of the project, Dannion, was charged with the responsibilities of detailed designs of the bridge, culvert, drain and river diversion structures, supervision of production of the tender drawings, preparation of the tender documents, preparation of the bill of quantities and the engineer’s estimate, preparation of notices to tenderers and tender evaluation.

The recommendation of the study were implemented under the Flood Mitigation – Castries and Anse La Raye Project .
