The project consists of the reconstruction and rehabilitation of three sections of roadway of varying classifications – 1.5km of streets through the village of Laborie, 6km of tertiary and rural community roads from Laborie to Banse and 8km of agriculture roads from Banse to La Haut.
Dannion was commissioned by the lead entity of the design-finance-build team, as the engineering designers, to undertake the structural, alignment, stability and drainage assessment of the roadway and to produce the designs and costs for the rehabilitation of these roads. The Design-Finance-Build team was awarded the project after a process of competitive bidding by the Government of St. Lucia – Ministry of Infrastructure, Port Services and Transport.
The solutions consisted of milling of the existing pavement down to subbase with cement stabilisation of the base and asphalt concrete resurfacing of the Laborie Streets and Laborie to Banse roads. And the reconstruction of the Banse to La Haut with a new rigid pavement.
